BSC Back Young Engineers at 2015 Big Bang Fair

BSC are proud to have been involved in assisting young Engineers of the future by providing local business support to a team of A Level students from Gower College.

The students have been working directly within BSC on an Engineering Project organised by STEMCymru /Engineering Education Scheme Wales (EESW). They then had the opportunity to showcase their Engineering project at the Big Bang Fair South Wales at the Celtic Manor Convention Centre, Newport.

The A Level Student projects were judged on the day with prizes awarded to the winners in each of the 16 different categories such as “Best Application of Engineering and Technology” and “Most Innovative Solution to the Project Set”. All prizes were sponsored by companies and organisations both locally and nationally.

This event signalled the start of British Science Week 2015 and on Monday 16th March 2015 hundreds of school pupils gathered at the Celtic Manor Convention Centre, to participate, view and compete in the Big Bang Fair South Wales. The one day event saw students of ages 8 to 18 years competing in various competitions, all with a focus on Engineering:

As a supporting Company, BSC were invited to engage with pupils and students throughout South Wales with 2 of our own team on hand throughout the day to introduce young Engineers to the concept of Building Management Systems and how this is being used within their own School or College environment.
